We are in a time of unexpected water shortages around the world. Multinationals are quietly buying up properties in many countries that are known to have large aquifers. This is a dangerous trend since whoever “owns” the water has the power to withhold it. Our water should be held in common by all the citizens of this and every country and should be administered for the public good. We can only live for about three days without water.
It must be enshrined in our Charter of Human Rights that every being has the inalienable right to clean water, air, and healthy food. We can’t let our children down on this to any other environmental issue.
