Thank you for continuing this study. Hopefully it will lead to the phasing put and end of these virtually free water-pumping permits for giant multi-nationals.
Companies like Nestles make enormous profits from our precious groundwater while paying next to nothing for it, but it’s their global community track record, as well as that of other companies like Coca Cola, that is much more worrying. That fact that they continue to pump millions of gallons even in times of drought, and have shut down towns and villages by leaving the residents and local farmers without enough water to survive on, that’s truly awful.
I strongly believe that we in Canada should phase out plastic bottled water entirely, and replace it with more public water fountains, subsidized healthy and re-usable water bottles, and stop giving the world’s most precious resource away for nearly free to companies that put nothing back into the many communities they strip of their groundwater.
Enough already!
