I think this moratorium needs to go further. Clean drinking water should be free and a right (excluding costs incurred to transport that water to homes and businesses). It is a requirement of our very survival. Here in Canada we have so many issues with contaminated drinking water and boil water advisories and yet multi billion dollar corporations like Nestle can come in and take millions of litres of water for what amounts to fractions of pennies per liter. And then they turn around and sell the water for way more than they pay for it. In plastic bottles that sre contaminating our oceans and endong up in landfills because of lazy people who can't be bothered to recycle. If the province is going to continue to allow PTTW to be issued after 2020 and still allow existing permits to continue until then, then prices to take that water need to go up drastically so the province can work to get safe water conditions in areas of the province that don't have safe drinking water. And start promoting tap water by installing more water fountains and fill stations in provincial buildings.
