Around the world municipalities are beginning to scramble fro water. It is becoming scarce. This is not a time to give water permits to profiteering companies like Nestle. On a local level, the Ontario Government has mandated my municipality to grow by 40% in 20 years. All the best water is to the west of Elora, where the Middlebrook Well is situated. The province should give the its own citizens priority access. Sustainibilty and conservation, not water placed in toxic plastic that creates indelible waste for the planet. The governments should take stewardship to protect aquifers in the name of their citizens to manage such valuable recourses. Who cares about oil when there is not enough water. The province should move to legislate protection now, as there will be conflicts over this internationally. Add the wild card of climate change, and the need is all the more urgent.
