Closing a project near completion, for the direct purpose of saving money, is a nonsensical act that does nothing to better the lives of Ontario citizens or economic prosperity of Ontario's businesses. Climate change is a threat to our current way of life, no matter what your political leanings are. Our best way to combat this is to explore ALL options available to us, in order to reduce our footprint, and lead the world out of the danger we're currently facing.
Even if you're denying the existence of climate change, or you believe we can't make a difference, there are economic opportunities in green technology that we would be badly mistaken to pass up. The world will shortly be looking to the most technologically advanced nations on earth for solutions to our climate and environmental problems. We should be there to lead and provide these solutions, and make a ton of economic progress in turn.
There is no downside to finishing this project which is, again, mostly complete. If the goal is to spite the previous government, then I understand, but I urge you to reconsider such a short-sighted action.
This is about all of us, and we need progress more than we need partisanship.
