So why has this project been cancelled? I thought Ontario was open for business? The new government has absolutely no plan for climate change. Nothing. Zilch. So why cancel a wind farm that was years in the making, and where millions have dollars have already been spent. This sends a clear message to any foreign company that wants to invest or do business in Ontario, you can't trust Ontario.

We not only need the White Pines Wind Project to be completed, but we need more projects like this.

This is a classic example of PC government's short term thinking, like when the previous PC government sold the 407 for the short term gain of 3 Billion dollars. How much is the 407 worth now? Do you ever drive on the 407? If you do, you know how expensive it is and since it's owned by a foreign firm, you have no recourse regarding the price hikes. Also, the previous PC government, not only cancelled the Eglinton subway extension, which was fully costed out and being built at the time they came into power, but the spent 300 million tax dollars to fill in the part of the tunnel that was already built (which cost 600 million dollars to build). So that was nearly a Billion dollars wasted. And where are we now, building an Eglinton Rapid Transit. How much money would have been saved if it had just been built in the 90s?

So this is just more short term thinking. We need renewable energy. We need it now, and in the future. So please do not cancel this project.
