There is a great deal of symbolism in closing a facility meant to generate clean sustainable energy in a time when we human beings so desperately need to adjust our way of life on scales large and small. When you propose to close a facility such as the White Pines Wind Facility, you are divesting in any reasonable longevity of the human race. Ontarians need clean sustainable energy on a massive scale. Humanity needs clean sustainable energy on a massive scale. It is a cosmic indifference we are toying with. The proposal to close White Pines is dangerously short-sighted and serves as a treacherous symbol of hubris and ignorance. It is an act that in itself will likely see no direct climatic consequences, but it is part of a grand act of treason against the delicate planetary ecosystem which affords us with the lives we are living today.
