No new permits to take water should be issued to commercial water taking companies in Ontario when the intended use of the water is single use packaged water. In addition, permits for increased pumping should not be renewed. Ground water is a public commons, that current legislation is allowing multi-national corporations to take water for a nominal administrative fee per million liters of water and sell it back to people at a 3000x profits not to mention the amount of garbage that single use water bottles create, this system needs to change. The township of Centre Wellington will be competing with Nestle waters for access to groundwater needed to sustain our community. I fully support the extension to the moritorium and strongly support the end to the practice of issuing these sort of permits for water extraction.
Thank you.
