As a cyclist in Toronto who relies on a bicycle for transportation, there is no doubt we require bike lanes for our safety. I oppose Bill 212 entirely. It would be a huge mistake for Toronto to spend that much money on undoing what has been an effective way to keep cyclists safe in our city. What a waste of time to even have to debate this topic. If every cyclist I see in the bike lanes were to instead get in a car, the amount of traffic would increase exponentially. I've been cycling in Toronto for over 20 years and am impressed by the progress that's been made, in terms of bike lanes. Also, I'd never experienced as much bicycle traffic as I have in the past few years, which is great. People are making excellent use of the lanes and I congratulate the city for getting this point. Please, do not undo the progress.
