On behalf of the court-appointed Receiver of 39 Newcastle Street, Osmington Gerofsky Development Corporation (OGDC) is carefully reviewing the proposal to revoke Ontario Regulation 337/22. 39 Newcastle Street is within Block 2 of the Regulation 337/22 boundary. We respectfully request additional time to engage in meaningful and comprehensive discussions with all relevant stakeholders involved in this decision-making process, prior to bills being advanced to revoke the regulation.
Our aim is to help deliver on the local and provincial priorities for a Transit Oriented Community at Mimico Station. Challenges in the housing market have made the planned development difficult to deliver, but we believe there are opportunities to support the revitalization of this critical transit node. OGDC only learned of the plans to revoke Regulation 337/22 recently, and have started initiating conversations with relevant stakeholders to understand this more fully. These initial discussions have been constructive. With additional time, we aim to consult with area landowners, the City of Toronto, Infrastructure Ontario, Metrolinx and the broader community on potential pathways to achieving our shared goals of delivering transit-oriented development on the lands as quickly as possible.
We strongly believe that a collaborative approach is essential to achieving an outcome that reflects the interests and priorities of all parties. OGDC remains fully committed to working together with all stakeholders to ensure a well-informed resolution.
Sincerely,
Laurie Payne, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, OGDC
Tammy Chou, Director of Planning and Development, OGDC
