This proposal benefits only private sector initiatives while threatening the stability of the lake ecosystem at a time of severe biodiversity loss. It is not in the public interest. And it flies in the face of international agreements to protect the Great Lakes' water quality and habitat by discharging raw sewage into Lake Ontario.

Doing so not only puts the habitat of diverse animal species at risk, but it puts human health in harm's way by degrading the water quality. Those who fish in the lake, enjoy its beaches, live on its islands will be exposed to harmful water quality that could negatively impact their health.

This proposal also cheapens the international image of Toronto, purpotedly a world-class city, by putting its natural beauty, its water quality, its biodviersity, its citizens, and its visitors at risk of serious harm to accelerate the construction of a mega-spa nobody asked for. With zero public consultation, public money is being used to worsen the quality of life in the city, not improve it.

It's absolutely shameful.
