This proposal puts public health at risk for private gain at a time when our environment is in need of greater protections. It is disgusting that this agenda is being pushed ahead of schedule and millions of taxpayer dollars are once again being wasted to prioritize a private company over the wellbeing of the public and the environment. A proposal for an interim combined sewer goes against city efforts to protect from raw sewage. It also threatens the health of locals and wildlife. It also goes against international agreements to protect water quality and ecosystems in the great lakes region. The lease must be stopped.
