I am a resident of Toronto and am submitting this comment to state my opposition to the Ford government’s plan for an interim combined sewer, which they are putting forward to support development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). This sewer goes against international agreements to protect water quality, biodiversity, and habit in the Great Lakes. It goes against thoughtful city planning. It creates health risks for a shared ecosystem of people, fish, and plants. This proposal goes against public good (put forward without public consultation), to benefit private interests.
