I am commenting on this proposed destructive change for an interim combined sewer to the development at 955 Lake Shore Blvd, (Ontario Place). The original design took into account the water health of the lake and the currents. I am absolutely opposed to this development. Decades of work to separate and replace combined sewers in Toronto, to prevent the discharge of raw sewage into Lake Ontario, part of 20 percent of the planet's fresh water, will be undone, as well as international agreements to protect water quality and habitat in the Great Lakes.
There has also been absolutely no consultation with the public. It is clear that the entire proposal to spend public funds for the financial support of a private spa on PUBLIC property is shameful at best, and ignores the ever growing need to integrate protection of the local environment with the public good, as recent floods and fires around the world have shown us.
