My concerns with this…

My concerns with this proposal are many and I am opposed to it in its entirety. Wasting money and precious time to further harm the Province, City and our precious resource of fresh water from the Great Lakes is unconscionable. This is a beloved site and there have been no public consultations or environmental studies undertaken. We know that raw sewage discharge harms people and the environment which is why there are many initiatives to upgrade our standards. We must work to uphold international agreements to protect water quality and habitat in the Great Lakes and continue to work towards modernizing sewer standards to reflect our current understanding of the harms such discharge can cause. The proposal carries no benefits to the public and such filth will carry no benefits for the proposed private spa. I would also like to add the whole spa proposal should be scrapped as harm to the public for private and often international profit seems to be the backbone to which these decision were made, at least according to the findings of the Auditor General of Ontario. It must not proceed. Please, deny this permit. This is a precious public resource that should be able to be enjoyed for generations of Ontarians to come.
