I am opposed to the squandering of our tax dollars to support the private company, Therme MegaSpa. Not only does it go against the health and well-being of all of us, but also against decades of work by the City of Toronto to efficiently manage our sewage system. Not only will the project threaten the stability of the lake ecosystem, it will also impact the many rowers, swimmers, and paddlers whose recreation does not destroy the environment - not to mention the wildlife for whom it is a home.

Toronto will be suffering not only the social and environmental costs of this project for many years to come, but also the economic costs, as we spend billions paying of the debt that we will incur by making the infrastructure changes to subsidize this private company. Such money, instead of contributing to a project with so many negative impacts, is needed for the many positive benefits, such as schools, parks, and library, that benefit all.
