I’m writing about the plan for a combined sewer at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place), and I’m against it. This goes against years of work by the City of Toronto to fix sewers so that raw sewage doesn’t get dumped into Lake Ontario. It also goes against agreements we have to protect the water and wildlife in the Great Lakes. The sewage could hurt human health, make the beaches unsafe, affect fishing, and hurt the lake’s reputation as a place people want to visit. Plus, the province hasn’t asked the public for their opinion on this. This plan looks like it’s more about helping private companies than protecting the public or the lake. It could mess up the ecosystem, especially with all the problems we’re already having with wildlife. I urge you to reject this permit.
