Thank you for the opportunity to comment. In my opinion the current sign policy is a good one. The purpose appears to be to keep visual clutter and distractions away from provincial highways. Our province relies a lot on tourism and to clutter our highways with billboards and other visual junk would detract from that goal and make it less desirable to visit or for current residents to explore. Vermont has a very strong "no billboards" policy and it works. Their landscapes are effectively protected. Please do not allow a special interest like the billboard industry ruin the aesthetics of our province for the sake of a short term cash infusion. Please do not open up the ability to do this. Also, there is an issue with landowners using semi trailers to advertise along highways. This should be effectively enforced. See the mega church at Finch ave and 400 for example. Thanks.
