I am writing to express my concerns regarding the proposed interim combined sewer to facilitate development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). I strongly oppose this initiative, as it undermines decades of efforts by the City of Toronto to replace and separate combined sewers, a critical measure to prevent untreated sewage from entering Lake Ontario. Moreover, it conflicts with international commitments aimed at safeguarding water quality and ecosystems within the Great Lakes. This discharge poses significant risks to human health, affecting water quality at beaches, local fishing, and the lake's appeal as a destination for Canadian and international tourists.

Additionally, the province has not conducted any public consultations on this matter. Prioritizing private interests through this proposal is contrary to the public good and endangers the lake’s ecological balance at a time when biodiversity is under severe threat. I urge you to deny this permit.
