I am writing to oppose the proposal for an interim combined sewer system at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). This plan undermines the City of Toronto's decades of work to separate combined sewers and protect Lake Ontario from raw sewage discharge. It also contradicts international agreements to protect water quality and ecosystems in the Great Lakes.

Allowing this would pose risks to public health—affecting water quality, beach safety, and fishing—and threaten the lake’s role as a key attraction for residents and visitors alike. Furthermore, there has been no public consultation on this proposal, which is concerning given its potential impact.

I urge you to reject this permit in order to safeguard both the environment and the public interest.
