Site inspections of ongoing archaeological fieldwork need to start happening for a number of reasons.
1. As an immediate response to provide clarification and correction of ongoing violations of the Standards and Guidelines in real time, to provide preventative intervention (as necessary) which would streamline the process (rather than attempting to do damage control after the fast which can lead to delays as an archaeological assessment needs to be entirely revisited.
2. To act as a deterrent for those that might act in bad faith regarding preservation and license responsibilities
3. An opportunity for relationship and trust building between involved groups, including Indigenous Communities, Licensed Archaeologists, and representatives of the government.
