This is a very shortsighted proposal. It destroys our past for the profit of a few. Once these sites are gone they are gone forever. Other countries have a professional approach to this and if done right and planned for does NOT severely impact timelines or cost. This proposed amendment will cost our future in ways that we will never really know if passed. Once these sites are destroyed there is no going back and the heritage of all Canadians and especially those in Ontario, the work of our ancestors whether First Nation or that of later pioneers will be erased. The cost to our descendants, our history is much too great.
