I am against this proposed…

I am against this proposed bill 5:
1) it gives power to the minister to override the safeguards that have been put in place to ensure the protection of the natural environment, guts environmental assessment, remove the requirement for consultation and agreement with communities and indigenous groups and put the responsibility of cleanup afterwards on the taxpayer.
2) This legislation shortcuts the vary safety net of our society, in favour of big business. Corporations may say they will protect the environment, and in most cases that may be true, however without the safeguards, guide rails and monitoring, we will end up with the pollution of our environment, loss of diversity of species, and consequences that all Canadians will have to pay for - just like the abandoned wells in Alberta.
3) Like Premier Smith's petition threshold reduction, this bill flies directly in the face of reconciliation, which is very disturbing, and will set back our relationship with the indigenous community centuries.
4) if you want to streamline the process then make sure that the resources are available to do a proper and thorough job - which includes all of the protections in place now.
5) Premier Ford has the largest cabinet in history so maybe he could reassign them to speed up the process.
6) I gave him the mandate to get things done by voting for him, not to enrich corporations at the expense of every Ontarian.
In summary - The only species at risk if this bill is passed, should be those that say one thing and do another - and can easily be voted out!! Kill this bill 5.
