This proposed amendment will cause the destruction of irreplaceable material and the loss of potential scientific and historical discoveries. Removing archaeological requirements from certain projects would be trading away our province's valuable history and heritage for perceived expediency and gain - but archaeological investigation can be done expediently and can in and of itself enhance the development of our province. This change would be disrespectful to Native populations and settler communities alike. Please reconsider and bring archaeologists, representatives of affected groups, and heritage workers to the table to discuss ways to improve the amendment so that the experts in this field and those most affected by it can give their input.
