The content of Bill 5 is very concerning. Creating areas that are exempt from due process, that focus on the business interests of a few, and that are not subject to the oversight of the legislature is anti-democratic and reeks of cronyism. Ontario needs to plan with a 7-generation lens.
Creating Special Economic Zones sounds like something out of the old USSR. It is not aligned with due process, nor is it in the best interests of the communities that will be impacted. Please find another way to "Protect Ontario's Economy and Build a More Prosperous Ontario". Focus on sustainable energy projects. Focus on infrastructure that reduces Green House Gas emissions. Focus on long-term planning that really protects our economy in Ontario by supporting the environmental health of the ecosystem we live in.
