This legislation allows for too much overreach with little to no oversight. Progress for the province should not come at the expense of the environment, safety, or health of humans or animals.
The distinct lack of criteria for how zones will be chosen, how "proponents" will be chosen, and how oversight of any project will be undertaken is disturbing and appears less than legal and most definitely undemocratic.
The idea that this bill might also allow the government or its representatives to unilaterally ignore or override Indigenous consultation for a project is demeaning and disgusting and flies in the face of everything this country should stand for.
As a diligent voting member of the Ontario population I do not support this bill and will not support any government that attempts to pass it at the expense of its residents.
