This is in response to your in invitation to comment on opportunities to "improve" the Corridor Signing Policy which is used in decision-making with regard to third party advertising along provincial highways
We support maintenance of a strict policy on signage in Ontario's highways that preserves them free from visual pollution, and from distracted driving hazards arising from digital signage.
We wish to draw your attention to a letter that we sent to Minister Del Duca in August 2014 regarding a specific signage proposal on Rail Lands in north Toronto. "Proposal for Third Party Ground Signs Located on Rail Lands Immediately Adjacent to Highways 401 and 427". We continue to request an answer to the question posed in our letter of August 2014. After prompting about lack of a reply we received a non-committal response from the Minister (after one year from the original letter). In that response the Ministry promised that we would be consulted on future developments; however this has not happened, and we only recently became aware of the Corridor Signing Policy consultation that ends December 11th (today) .
That being the case we would be pleased to be part of any extended consultation on the Corridor Signing Policy.
