What should the government tie the EV purchase incentives to.
- battery size and whether EV or PHEV

How should the government adjust the current 30 per cent Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)
- the 30% is good. Drop the HST (GST/PST) will help.
Do you think these caps influence an EV buyer’s decision to purchase an EV or a specific type of EV?
- definitely, 100% yes

How can the government adjust the Electric Vehicle Charging Incentive Program (EVCIP) to benefit even more EV owners?
- ONtario is good on this, but I still haven't heard of any new EV charging stations being completed.
- Always... DC charging is best. A pedestal EVSE array such that 4 EVs can park around the one charging unit, with clearly marked spots with fines for non-charging use of the spot. Problem... If I use a charger while away, how do I disconnect and move my EV if I'm not around? I don't use the GO Transit charger, 'cause if I'm away, I can't unplug and move my EV from blocking the spot. ???

2. Electric Vehicle Chargers Ontario Program (EVCO)

What program features (e.g., eligibility requirements, evaluation criteria, technical requirements) should be considered in a program to deploy charging stations at workplaces, multi-unit residential buildings, downtowns and town centres?
- make the incentive good, but with a limited time line; save money now, or not. ??? although, if not in the budget for that time period, it won't get done. It's almost two years, I've been advocating the City of Niagara Falls, to install charging stations, as an incentive for destination travel, and still nothing.

Specifically for multi-residential and workplaces:
Who are best positioned to implement the installation of charging stations? Provincial Electric Companies, and Apartment Building Companies and Shopping Centre Companies

How should funding for charging stations be structured and/or capped? What value(s) of cap(s) should be applied?
- give the largest % incentive, for the fastest DC charging stations.

How can government best engage workplaces, condos and apartment boards to participate in the EVCO program?
- give a company a tax or Electric break for a year or two, per EV charging station. ???

How should government ensure that Local Distribution Companies are involved in EVCO applications?
What aspects of the first round of EVCO do you feel should be repeated or done differently?
- I haven't heard of ANY being completed yet. ??? It's a shame that ONRoute stops, DON'T have charging stations, yet they've had signs up for a long time, indicating that they will be installed, SOMETIME in the future.

3. Education and Awareness

EV Educational Campaigns

What are your current perceptions related to EVs?
- I'm a 2015 24 kWh battery Nissan LEAF SL owner. You won't find an EV owner, who doesn't love his EV.

How can government help in improving perceptions related to EVs, and help consumers better understand the benefits of EVs?
- EV owners love to talk about their cars. Plan EV information meetings, where owners can share their expertise to possible owners. Plug'n'Drive is one further example.

What innovative education and/or awareness programs or policies, currently operating in other jurisdictions that provide support for the adoption of EVs, could be applied in Ontario?
- set up EV information meetings at colleges and universities for student information.

Who should the government be partnering and collaborating with to deliver an EV educational campaign?
- colleges and universities.... high schools? local boards of education? during a technical week? Promote the educational and career opportunities with Zer0-Emission transportation. - encourage TESLA or GM or ???? to have EV research and manufacturing in ONtario.

To increase education and awareness of the benefits of EVs, what forms of communication and key messages should the government consider to reach an audience beyond the EV community?
- just how much of the environment can be helped if more EVs were on the road?

Partner and Dealership Programs

What are potential tools that can be used to increase the availability of EV models on the showroom floor, for test drives and for purchase at dealerships? Other than the Volt, I don't think I could purchase any other EV or PHEV in all of Niagara Region.
- my local three Nissan dealerships, don't sell my car, 'cause they don't ever see the owners again, since the maintenance is so low on EVs.
- raise the municipal/provincial tax on car dealerships, unless they sell EVs.

What supportive mechanisms and/or incentives should the government provide to EV salespeople and dealerships in order to increase EV sales?
- My salesman, negotiated with his sales manager, that selling an EV, doesn't cut into the sales rotation at his dealership. If he sells an EV, it's a bonus for him.

Private Fleet Awareness Campaign

How can we effectively raise awareness of EVs and EV incentives to private fleets?
- don't know exactly, but municipalities, need to know that they can use EVs for their city needs. Niagara Falls, doesn't think they can use an EV for part of the city fleet, 'cause the range isn't enough. Just how large do they think Niagara Falls is, anyway. ??? Make the incentive for EV purchasing larger, for a small-window time frame. ??? If each municipality, had one Chevy Bolt, they'd see how beneficial and economical an EV could be.

What elements should be included in a decision-making tool or cost calculator to help fleets consider purchasing an EV? - cost savings over say, a four-year period.
