Giving the current provincial administration every benefit of the doubt, and being so generous as to presume truth when it is claimed this act will be limited to the ring of fire project, this act still gives carte blanche to any subsequent administration, devoid of scruples and of any party, to act with impunity in the destruction of Ontario's ecological systems and cultural heritage.
Its scope is too broad and has too much potential for misuse and abuse.
Futhermore the ability to overlook environmental and cultural requirements at the discretion of the province lends itself too easily to misuse and corruption.
The act need to be limited in scope to the ring of fire project if the intent is to allow that project to proceed in isolation.
