We need to move in the other direction, recycle more not less, produce less packaging and what is produced needs to be recycled or composted. The way producers can keep the cost of the program down is not by delaying and reducing the scope but by making the system ubiquitous and produce more durable goods that can be reused then recycled. More metal, paper and glass that are highly recyclable rather than plastic which is not.
I do not support any of these changes or the move away from a deposit system for all beverage containers.
