The Lindsay Downtown Business Improvement Association represents more than 165 businesses in Lindsay, Ontario. We strongly support maintaining recycling services in our downtown area to aid local businesses and the environment. Small businesses face challenges with independent recycling due to limited resources and space for bins. Transporting recyclables is costly and time-consuming, with limited landfill access. Ending curbside pickups could increase waste, affecting maintenance and environmental efforts. The mix of commercial and residential properties complicates material sourcing. We strongly support any proposed changes to help businesses manage these challenges effectively.
