Electric vehicles over $50,000 should not have any incentives. Vehicles over that price are luxury vehicles and the purchasers should be able to afford them with or without the incentive. Vehicles under that price such as the upcoming Tesla model threeshould have significant incentive programs. The average middle-class family when choosing a vehicle in the $20,000 to $40,000 range Will have their decision-making greatly influenced if 10 or $15,000 of incentives are available. This will push them to purchase a green car and take the risk of purchasing such a vehicle.

Condos should have incentive programs to instal EV charging stations in pre-existing buildings. In homes and buildings where the owner of such a car can't instal these devices they should have incentives to instal them as well. A major stumbling block to purchasing an EV car is having the ability to charge it easily. Many Toronto homeowners are environmentally minded but will be unable to charge their cars and thus won't be able to purchase one.
