I am against this Amendment. Please do not pass it. The French River and Grundy Lake provincial parks are necessary and important because of the ecology, geology, and cultural history of the area.
The native biodiversity supported in these areas include endangered species, protected species, and flora and fauna that are part of the core of Canada's global identity. Muskelunge breed in this area. Moose and deer call it home. The rivers support countless fish and aquatic animals. The trillium grows here. Birds and pollinators find a haven here. We need our pollinators. The Georgian Bay delta is directly affected by these parks and with the ecological disasters we are seeing globally, delta's are becoming both important for living things and are disappearing globally.
These provincial parks are part of the fur trade route and are a important part of Canada's culture and history. They are also prime examples of the wilderness that Canada is known for globally and are enjoyed by people from around the world.
Fracturing and dividing the land for infrastructure or resource removal will only hurt us and the land more.
