Currently BEV and PHEV have a $75000 MSRP limit to qualify for the full EV rebate. This allows some clearly luxury PHEV to qualify (like the Volvo XC90) while excluding long ranged BEV's (like the Tesla S). I would like to see a separate MSRP limit for BEV and PHEV; I would suggest $50K for PHEV and $100K for BEV. Once long ranged EV's, like the Chevy Bolt and the Tesla Model 3, enter the market in large numbers the $100K MSRP limit for BEV's should be revisited.
I would also like to see an additional rebate offered for extra long ranged BEV's and other zero emission vehicles. I would suggest an extra rebate of at least $5K for zero-emission vehicles that had a range of at least 350 kms.
I would also like Ontario to consider a ZEV mandate similar to what Quebec has just passed.
Thank You.
