These EROs are follow up to provincial ‘Bill 5’ components that weakened Endangered Species protections - already over 100 at-risk species have been removed from protections because of the changes. Weakening species protection threatens both nature, climate and ultimately humans. Healthy wetlands, forests, and grasslands store carbon, reduce flooding, and protect communities. Dr. Jane Goodall who died very recently at the age of 91 while she was on a speaking tour addressing these very issues never gave up hope!!!! Nor will Ontario citizens give up hope on our province - this includes all living matter from soil to the smallest pollinating insect. We are all in this together - select humans (politicians and corporate elite to name a few) will eventually face what other living creatures have endured in the rush for profits.
