Regarding ERO Number 025-1082
Ministry Reference Number 4235-DL5A93
To Whom it May Concern,
I would like to express my concern with ERO Number 025-1082. Not in terms of the merit of the application to increase the amount of water being take from 2 Mlpd to 5 Mlpd, but for the absolute lack of technical information accompanying this proposal. It is impossible to comment on the technical merit of the proposal as there isn't sufficient detail. I have listed questions below;
1. How will the wash water be handled and discharged?
2. Will it be retained on site to be injected back into the aquifer or discharged off site?
3. If it is to be retained on site for injection, will there be an accompanying ECA application for discharge to the natural environment?
4. If it is to be retained on site for injection, what is the proposed treatment process to ensure the injection water is of suitable quality?
5. If the water is to be discharged off site, has an erosion and sediment control plan been developed?
6. There is no accompanying report showing what analysis was completed to assess the potential interference effects on neighbouring private domestic and private agricultural water supply wells.
7. Will there be a condition in the PTTW, if this is approved, that requires the establishment of a monitoring program and an annual monitoring report to be submitted to the MECP by March 31st of each year for the previous year ending December 31st?
8. What is the proposed well interference mitigation and response plan?
9. A permit of 10 years in duration is requested. Given the significant increase in proposed water taking the more standard PTTW duration of 5 years should be considered.
Given the lack of supporting documentation provided, I would request that this be reposted along with additional information as outlined above.
Thanks.
