I encourage the province to prioritize projects that involve segregated infrastructure, closing gaps in current incomplete networks, and building high-density, high-quality cycling networks that will attract many people to ride. Better to have some inspirational areas that showcase what is possible, than more diffuse infrastructure that will support only a slight and gradual increase in the number of people riding. If we want most people to start thinking about replacing car trips with bike trips, they need to be able to see what can be achieved, and even get a little jealous that that kind of infrastructure isn't in their neighbourhood. For that reason, I encourage you to focus on projects in areas that already have a relatively high cycling modal share, and try to take those areas to the next level, where the "interested but concerned" people will feel comfortable riding, not just a few more of the "bold and fearless".
