I don't own a vehicle. I rely on public transit and bike lanes to get around. I bike near daily. I bike to my doctors appointments along University Avenue where my dentist and allergist are. I bike to work as a Software Engineer near College and Bathurst. I bike because our grid lock is terrible. The province's own experts have said time and time again that bike lanes have no impact on how terrible our city's congestion is. By limiting where bike lanes can be placed, you're directly limiting how I can move around my city. This is felt personally. It's felt in the time that's stolen from me from spending with loved ones, only to be spent in grid lock. It's felt in the very real danger to my personal life when I have to bike alongside vehicles without any physical protection. This bill further worsens grid lock by preventing priority transport lanes and reducing car lanes for safety reasons near schools and seniors homes.
Please reconsider this entire bill.
