Giving the provincial government this much broad power to determine how roads are built will disproportionally effect the province's more vulnerable populations: the elderly, children going to school, cyclists. In fact, it will only serve the part of the population that drive as the main mode during their commute.

It has been proven over and over that bike lines, bus lanes, school zones and the like are not the cause of gridlock, it is the encouragement of more vehicles being on the road. The more vehicles on the road, the more traffic. Adding car lanes, removing bike lanes, this only encourages more driving which will only worsen traffic. It seems so logical to me, so this bill, coupled with their past actions and corruption, makes me think that this government again has intentions other than the majority of their citizen's best interest at heart.
