I'm a professional driver (delivery/rideshare) and I oppose this bike lane restriction.
My job depends on efficient routes and predictable traffic. Bike lanes help me by:
1. Keeping cyclists out of the lanes I need to use
2. Making traffic flow more predictable (no sudden swerving around bikes)
3. Reducing the number of single-occupancy vehicles clogging the roads
4. Creating clear expectations for all road users
When cyclists don't have protected lanes, they're forced into traffic lanes, causing unpredictable slowdowns and risky passing situations. This costs me time and increases accident risk.
Municipalities should have the freedom to build infrastructure that creates safer, more efficient roads for professional drivers like me.
