I have a disability that requires me to drive everywhere. I'm opposing this proposal.
I can't bike or take transit, so I rely entirely on driving. That's exactly why I support bike lanes - they reduce the number of other vehicles on the road competing with me for space. Every bike lane user is someone who's NOT in a car taking up space I need.
When cities make cycling safe and convenient, able-bodied people choose it over driving, which benefits people like me who have no choice but to drive. Less traffic means easier driving, easier parking, and better access for people with accessibility needs.
This proposal prevents municipalities from building alternatives that would reduce traffic and make driving easier for those of us who depend on it. That's counterproductive.
