City councillors were duly elected by the residents of the city like toronto. If the residents don't like what city council is doing they can vote them out during the next election. The province should stay in their lane and allow cities and the residents to do what they were elected over. The majority voted for the city councillors and they want them to work together and get some things done like building more separated bike lanes. Pandering to rural voters and lying about the benefits of cycling along with making cycling out to be the cause of all problems that everyone has is just down right wrong. Everything any politician in any level of government does is recorded forever and you know what you did or are trying to do is wrong and later on trying to rewrite history because people are fight back and point out all the wrongs you have done and are trying will not work as its your legacy. All the evidence and data shows that cycling is good and if politicians were honest about it they would say so, but continue to paint cycling as the ills of everything in the world.
