I object to the proposed legislation with respect to limiting municipalities' power to determine the design and placement of bike lanes. Decisions relating to bike lanes are best left to the municipality, who, as the AMO says, "are best positioned to balance traffic flow with active transportation, road safety, and community needs". Why on earth does this government feel the need to micro-manage municipal governments? It can only be because Doug Ford is pro-car at the expense of any other considerations. What is the point of municipal government - which is elected solely by the people affected by these decisions - if the Province arbitrarily overrules them to score points with their voting base?
