I am strongly opposed to any measures that will have the effect of reducing existing or future bike lanes. My entire family cycles to work and school in Ottawa, including in winter. It is our main mode of transportation. It is in the best interest of all to make active transportation safer and more accessible. I have seen cities that function well with extensive cycling infrastructure. It will also reduce vehicles on the road, reducing congestion. This measure feels like a political attack on cyclists and reduces local democracy.
