Member of Moose Cree First Nation and commenting after reviewing the proposal. There are many unanswered questions such as how will you ensure that the habitats and land will not be harmed or destroyed? Seeing as there are many other sites not far from this particular area, it seems that the habitats and land are not being considered which is apart of the livelihood of Indigenous people from treaty 9 and the inherent rights (to protect the land). As well, has there been discussion of compensation to the community it directly affects aside from potentially offering jobs? how will you ensure that the air is not polluted and the chemicals involved do not enter the water ways? what are the long term environmental impacts specifically in this area? do you plan to leave the site without a plan to restore it back to its natural state? is there any indicators that this land will prove to even have the minerals and resources you are interested in? if so, where is it? if there is any potential risk, hazards or dangers to nearby Indigenous communities, the land and/or the animals that occupy the land, involved in exploring this site then I would not support this project. As well, clarity on the potential of renewal after 3 years needs to be included.
