There are other options. They can create a settling pond on their property and avoid affecting the beautiful goulais river.

Many families and children utilize the river as a healing place. It is a safe place for many species and even sturgeon. They have been spotted as recently as this summer in the same area the proposed disposal site is. Why affect species that are already very limited.

Families rely on this river water for their home water. There is no filtration system in place like big cities have to filter water where other WWTP are. These residents homes, gardens, yards, will all be affected.

The fecal portion of the wwtp is a concern and risk.

The engineering firm should have voiced more information about this instead of just trying to get people to think it will be beneficial to Searchmont. Most of this information was not properly shared with the residents and concerns citizens at the public meeting. Very minimal info was shared. Questions couldnt even be answered by the engineer firm because they didnt know the answers.

What happens if the system fails?
What are the risks?

I really hope that this does not go through.
Searchmont can afford to have an onsite system in place and haul the waste away instead of discharging into the goulais river, risking animals, families and the waterway itself.

Please consult with the indigenous members of the community who rely on this water way for healing, prayer, sacred spaces and teachings.

Please consult with families who use this waterway for their homes.

Please consult with local families who know what searchmont is all about and will do anything no matter if there is a fine involved or not. They will pay the fines because money talks. But once the damage is done, theres no turning back.

We need to protect mother earth and need to protect our families that rely on this water way for their everyday life.

An american business owner should not have the right to affect so many canadian families just to make a profit.

Please please please do not allow this proposal to go through. There is more harm than good.
