I am very concerned about…

I am very concerned about many aspects of this project. I live on Goulais Bay and the water temperature seems to rise every year. I fear with the added effluent we will be looking at a severe algae problem in the shallow bay almost immediately when the summer weather hits.

Also, 99/100 on the limit of fecal coliform bacteria is completely irresponsible and the fact that it is being proposed is terrifying for anyone who uses this waterway for recreation, fishing and especially drinking water.

The risk of untreated waste being release into the river with flooding etc is also very real and will be absolutely detrimental to everyone downstream.

This proposal to allow this Wastewater treatment plant to be built at the absolute limit of environmental guidelines, so the owners of the resort can save some money rather than building a better solution that safeguards their neighbours and extended population downstream, is an insult and a slap in the face to all of us.

This can be done right, and properly, so that zero pollution enters our river and ultimately the biggest (and cleanest) fresh water lake in the world. Let's do it right instead of saving some corporation some money. If they can't afford to do this environmentally responsibly, they shouldn't be doing it at all.
