Wolf Lake located within the city limits of Greater Sudbury needs/requires full protection as park status.
The area is home to the largest concentration of remaining Old Growth Red Pine forest in all of North America. The provincial Lands for Life of 1999 recognized Wolf lake as a 'Park in Waiting' because at the time mineral exploration were being done on the surrounding area. Mineral exploration has been going on here for over 40 years and to this date no important minerals have been discovered.
We the Save Wolf Lake Coalition urge the provincial government to protect the area for the following reasons: Historical, Recreational, Ecological significance. Cultural and Climate Change mitigations.
