At the Council meeting held on November 17, 2025, Town Council passed a motion to submit Staff Report #PD-2025-30 in response to ERO #025-1097 - 'Proposed Changes to the Planning Act (Schedule 10 of Bill 60 - the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025)'. At the Council meeting on November 17, 2025, a member of Town Council requested that a statement be provided that conveyed the following: The proposed ministerial exemption from making decisions that are consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement may lead to property owners bearing costs from errors caused by aerial surveys and zoning changes. The Province should aim to protect property owners from such unintended consequences.
