Hi. I'm protesting the Searchmont Ski Resort Inc., Environmental Compliance Approval (Sewage) because I am a Batchewana First Nation member living in Goulais Bay 15A.
Since as far back as I can remember the Goulais Bay 15A Indian Reserve has had a variety of drinking water issues. So much that the Federal government decided to give Batchewana First Nation $14.6 million dollars to build a new Water Treatment Plant. The Water Treatment plant currently accesses water directly from the Goulais Bay and provides safe drinking water to the community. The sewage disposal into the Goulais River will eventually find its way to the Goulais Bay and contaminate the natural ecosystems and cause unsafe drinking water. Please do not support the sewage system.
